Family History Final

In Emerging Technologies, we were asked to complete a final project that focused on our family history. While completing this project, I realized how little I knew about my family history, and decided to go more in depth and do more research to learn more. I started with my interview questions. I interviewed my dad's mother, and my mother's mother, and they both gave me good information, mostly about themselves. Secondly, I wrote an email to my grandma, asking her for even more information about our family history. Next, I started on my Family Echo, which is basically just a simple tree of my family. After completing my Family Echo, I went a little more in depth with my Prezi, which includes deeper information and pictures. My info-graphic made on Pictochart, features statistics and interesting information about my family.

I thought that the video we watched was very truthful, and showed a realistic insight to the real world, which is consumed by technology. I have always thought people used their phones too much, and everyday it seems like we get more and more involved with things like facebook and twitter, and don't notice that life is happening just outside of your phone or tablet.

Read THIS blog post by a teacher. I mean actually read it. Take it in. Think about it. And then, write about it. What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is.

I think that this article written by this teacher is very truthful, and i think he is right that people give up to easily, and we just have to suck it up and deal with it, because we really don't have another option. The main event to me is when we leave high school and go off into the real world, where we have to apply all these non-academic skills to our lives and careers.

Reflect on your stop-motion animation project. How did it go? What worked? What didn't work? If you're not finished - why? If you are finished go in to detail about the project and what you learned. Give as much detail and information as possible.

My stop-motion animation project was really difficult and time consuming to complete. I did drawings on a chalkboard, and my first idea was to simply have a boat sailing on the water, but the waves were very hard to match up and make it look real. Instead, I decided to draw a plant growing up into flowers, and then dying. I was surprised when it actually looked real, and was happy when it was done.

Wednsday, April 9th

What is your idea for your stop-motion animation? Explain yourself. Have you started taking photos? If not, when do you plan to take your photos? What is your action plan for today? What is your plan to GET SOMETHING DONE?

My idea for my stop-motion animation project is to have a large chalkboard/whiteboard, and draw pictures that will look animated when its done. My pictures will be simple comics, like a sailboat on the water. I plan on taking these pictures over the weekend, and assembling it then as well.

What is stop motion animation? If you don't know, look it up! Explain.

Stop motion is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. In other words, it creates the illusion of movement to an object in place.

What is a storyboard? If you don't know, what do you think it is? How are storyboards used? What are some different ways that storyboards can be made?

Storyboards are graphic organizers that use illustrations or images displayed in order of a story. These boards are used to tell a story or a sequence of events. They could be made on a word document, or a powerpoint presentation.
