Who do you look up to in life? Why? What have they done to help you or guide you?

I look up to a family friend, and neighbor most in life.  She is an all around good person, and always knows the right thing to do. She has helped me through difficult times in my life, and is always giving me advice on how to be a better person.  My neighbor has done a lot for me over the past few years, such as helping me with my homework (she is very smart), and just simply being there for me when I need a hand.

Tell me about the global issue you selected yesterday. Briefly restate your paragraph from yesterday.

The global issue I choose is Same-sex marriage. I choose this issue because it is an issue I support strongly, and I believe the government should have nothing to do with marriage. I am interested in learning more about this topic and why it is not legal yet.

Public Service Announcement

If you could pick one issue in the world to fix or change what would it be and why?
If I could change one thing about the would it would be hunger. There are too many people that starve to death each day in other countries, and here in america we have so much to be grateful for.  I would choose hunger above all because I think it is the absolute most necessary thing people need.

What is a Public Service Announcement? If you don't know what it is, Google it. In your own words, now tell me what it is? What are they used for? Can you recall an example of a PSA you've seen before?

A public service announcement is an announcement of information that interests a group of people. They are used to spread a message/important information many people at once, usually over radio or television.  An example of a public service announcement would be information over the radio/television about dangerous weather, like a tornado or hurricane.

Tell me about your three day weekend. How was it? What did you do? Elaborate!

This weekend was an interesting one for me. I'll start off on Friday afternoon, I brought my little sister Sonic for lunch at school since we got off earlier for the debate tournament. Later Friday night, I worked, and went home early because I had food poisoning from the sonic earlier. It was awful, I felt so sick at one time that I thought I needed to go to the hospital. Thankfully, it passed after a few hours, and I was able to go to my little sisters first volleyball tournament. Her team did really well and got first place medals. I didn't get home from the volleyball tournament till about 10 p.m., but once I got home, I decided to go hang out with some of my friends. We saw a movie and then went back to someones house afterwards. Sunday wasn't as fun, I worked on my homework and cleaned my room. On MLK day, I just hung out with my friends all day and finished up the rest of my homework.

What have you learned about Google Drive and Google Presentation so far? What do you like about it? What problems have you run in to? Is it better than PowerPoint? Explain.

So far, I have learned a lot about Google Drive and Google Presentation. My favorite thing about them both is that you don't have to save your work, it automatically saves everything to the drive. Also, I like the fact that it is online, so I can access it from at home, not just at school. One of the problems I have run into with Google Presentation is that it does not have clipart like Microsoft Office has. Although I think the Google programs are more convenient, Microsoft office still has many more features than Google.

Tell me if you agree with this statement and then explain why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted I should be able to use it."
I do agree with this statement. People today should be able to use images off the internet when they want because those who post today are aware that what they put on the internet stays there forever, therefore, that makes it very difficult to keep up with.

What do you want to learn in the class the semester? What information do you want to walk away with that you didn't know before? Elaborate!

- During this class, I'm hoping to learn about tools on the internet, or computer, that can make doing school work more efficient. For example, if there are programs like prezi or powerpoint on the internet that I could use as an alternative, I would like to know about them. I wouldn't mind learning about secret tools and computer shortcuts that can help me get work done faster and easier.
